Training Workshops

Letters of invite informing of the workshops were communicated to all stakeholders.

Flyers were developed for each workshop and shared on our social media platforms and addressed personally to interested stakeholders.

Drafted programmes and post evaluation forms for workshop participants.

The national director facilitated the following workshops in the following provinces:

  • 26th May 2023 in Emahlahleni Mpumalanga – 38 participants
  • 3rd June 2023 in Pretoria Gauteng – 18 participants
  • 10th June 2023 in Cape Town Western Cape – 23 participants
  • 14th June 2023 in Bloemfontein Free State – 22 participants
  • Online national workshop hosted on the 21st June 2023 – 13 participants

A Total of 114 participants attended the workshops, 96 of which were females and 18 of which were males. 17 participants were persons with disabilities.

The online workshop was hosted to accommodate those in the Eastern Cape and for those participants who could not attend the physical workshops. We were also fortunate to have guest speakers from the South African Police Service, SASSA, Doctors and healthcare managers from the Thuthuzela Care Centres. A Professor from the University of Pretoria, Department of Humanities, on Augmentative and Alternative communication, for non-verbal speakers. She also shared visual schedules that were specifically developed by the centre for non-verbal speaking victims so that they are able to tell their story and deliver testimony in court.

Feedback by participants through the post evaluation forms was very positive in terms of the workshops, average ratings scored was between 4 and 5; this is what some participants had to say:
