Down Syndrome International organises the World Congress on Down Syndrome every 3-4 years to bring together parents and professionals from around the world. Current research, education and advocacy programs are discussed by international experts.
Its aim is to take stock of the advances made since the last Congress. It is a point of meeting, reflection, exchange of knowledge and ideas for scientists, professionals, persons with Down syndrome, relatives and Associations.
It is also an opportunity to develop networking amongst delegates which can lead to collaborative research and programmes.
Previous conferences have been held in Spain, Australia, Singapore, Vancouver and the 10th World Down Syndrome is to be held in Dublin, Ireland 19-22nd August 2009. For more info on this congress go to www.wdsc2009.com
11th WORLD DOWN SYNDROME CONGRESS 2012, CAPE TOWN SOUTH AFRICA
Down Syndrome South Africa recently won the bid to host the 11th World Down Syndrome Congress which is to be held in August in Cape Town 2012.
