Down Syndrome South Africa (DSSA) relies on funding internationally and nationally and without the support of our funders we would not be in the position to provide the high level of support and services to our members that so rely on us.
FUNDRAISING
We host fundraising events such as an annual Golf Day and Ladies Tea or Breakfast. Although the monies raised from these events are not huge amounts they still allow us to keep our office running the day to day activities.
KARE - Ireland
KARE is an innovative and progressive voluntary organisation committed to providing an individualised service based on best practice to over 400 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families throughout Counties Kildare, East Offaly and West Wicklow. KARE was founded in 1967 by a group of parents and friends of people with an intellectual disability. This led to the formation of a network of branches throughout the catchment area and these branches are still in operation supporting KARE’s activities in a variety of ways.
A number of KARE staff members very generously donate a percentage of their monthly salary to DSSA and have been doing so for the past 7 years now. This funding has certainly helped us to grow the organisation and we are extremely grateful.
DONATIONS
We from time to time receive anonomous donations via the website or other. These donations also help us to keep the office running. Thank you to those who continue to support us.
OTHER FUNDING
Our major funding has been from LEV, the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund and the Kingston Project
