Down Syndrome South Africa (DSSA) relies on funding internationally and nationally and without the support of our funders we would not be in the position to provide the high level of support and services to our members that so rely on us.

KARE - is an innovative and progressive voluntary organisation committed to providing an individualised service based on best practice to over 400 children and adults with intellectual disabilities and their families throughout Counties Kildare, East Offaly and West Wicklow. KARE was founded in 1967 by a group of parents and friends of people with an intellectual disability. This led to the formation of a network of branches throughout the catchment area and these branches are still in operation supporting KARE’s activities in a variety of ways. A number of KARE staff members very generously donate a percentage of their monthly salary to DSSA and have been doing so for the past 7 years now. This funding has certainly helped us to grow the organisation and we are extremely grateful.

LEV - Our major funding has been from LEV an organisation based in Denmark who has supported us since 2004. Although our funding will come to an end at the end of 2013 we hope to find sufficient funding to continue the important programmes we have been supporting in the past.

NLDTF - the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund has supported us on and off since 2003.

DONATIONS - We from time to time receive anonymous donations via the website or other. These donations also help us to keep the office running. Thank you to those who continue to support us.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS - We have fundraising events from time to time to help supplement our funding. These are mostly in the form of a Golf Day or a Ladies Breakfast. We rely mostly on the support of our members, the public, friends and family. Keep an eye out on our upcoming events page to see when these are happening.

We are truly thankful to all our supporters who help us to provide very important services to those who rely on us!
